Hello to you! Tamara here! Thank you for visiting my weblog.

You will find that most of my sessions are family and children based but I still do occasionally shoot small weddings. I love natural light which is why most of my work is made outdoors. I like to think of myself as an ‘environmental portrait artist’. At times I take my film camera with me on a shoot as well as my DSLR. It’s fun and it forces me to appreciate the craft of  photography. You can’t rush an image with a camera that doesn’t have a light meter or auto-focus!

You may have gotten the picture (haha) that photography is a passion of mine. There is just something about it that gets me ‘right there’ and although I can’t completely explain what it is, I know that it has its hold on me.

I will never get tired of seeing life through a photograph. Time is fleeting and there is so much to do, so much to do, so much.

But, along the way, I love to smell the fresh air and just revel in it. Photography certainly helps me to capture such little moments between people, friends, families. When I sit down to edit a shoot it’s difficult to narrow down those images to my favourites.

I love the children and their carefree ways that show when you let them do their own thing like drawing in the sand. I love the smiles when a family comes together as the sun sets and warms their backs and arms around each other. I love that. And it shows in the images we create together.
